This order yields approximately 212 lbs of beef, including a variety of cut options—steaks, roasts, ground beef, and more. It requires about 7 cubic feet of freezer space, making it perfect for families who want to save time and money while enjoying high-quality, farm-fresh beef year-round.
A half cow requires a $200 deposit. The remainder of the payment is due at the time of pickup or delivery. When you purchase a half cow from us we charge $9.75/lb hanging weight. This refers to the weight of the animal after it is killed and eviscerated but before it is cut and trimmed into retail cuts. Our halfsteers typically hang between 300 lbs and 350 lbs. You can expect about 60-70% of your hanging weight yield back in retail cuts.
Example scenario: Your cow hangs at 325 lbs, you pay $3,168.75 ($9.75 x 325) in total and receive about 212 lbs of meat back in cuts. The more bones, fat and organs you use, the better your yield.
