School Partnerships

Farm-to-School Program

Somersworth High School and Brookford Farm are jointly committed to providing the youth of our area with nutritious food, healthy options, and opportunities to learn about local agriculture through student internships at the farm, interviews with farmers, and farm tours. The school cook receives a CSA share from the farm which has been modified to suit the needs of a school serving more than 500 students.

Farmers-in-Schools

Brookford Farm growers offer weekly courses for elementary school children at Tidewater Waldorf School in Eliot, ME. Students receive hands-on gardening experience, and learn about all aspects of growing, harvesting, and preparing fresh, seasonal food. Through this relationship, based in experiential learning cycles, students gain hands-on experience and real-world appreciation for community-based, sustainable agriculture.
